Today, there are unintentionally created artificial barriers in higher education that prevent communication across disciplines in which they contribute to the perception that real-life problems arrive to be either engineering problems, business problems or motivational/societal problems. At the same time, large sustainable innovations that changed the world involve the simultaneous achievement of three important factors for human concerns originating from engineering, business and societal problems, namely: feasibility, viability, and desirability, respectively. Today, students have to (a) truly master the art and science of innovation, (b) be able to address the current ever-changing world and (c) not be paralyzed by the emerging unknowable facets of the world- where reliable and relevant data are not available. They have to essentially develop a proficiency in addressing feasibility, viability and desirability in each project that are up to, whether working for an existing business or establishing a new one. Hence, for students to contribute to the changing global economy with sustainable innovations, they must develop what is called an Entrepreneurial mindset. A pressing question that follows: Is building entrepreneurial mindsets has to be a core mission of universities in the new century? If yes, then why it is so? And how to build programs that infuse such mindsets?
After the successful 2013 and 2014 Entrepreneurship Forums, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is proud to organize its 3rd Entrepreneurship Forum under the kind patronage of H.E. Dr. Azzam Al-Dakhil, Minister of Education. This forum brings global Entrepreneurship experts and major corporate players along with Entrepreneurs to discuss over the course of a day “Entrepreneurial Mindset Building…Why it is a Core Mission of Universities in the 21st Century?”

The Entrepreneurship Institute would like to take this opportunity to extend to you a very warm welcome to our forum and wish you a joyful stay at KFUPM.
